Writing...

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

"And there is no writer but who will perish,
Though time will keep what he wrote.

So do not write anything with your hand except
That which will please you on the Day of Resurrection."

Beneficial knowledge

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

"Beneficial knowledge is such knowledge which endows the man of knowledge with
humility after the elimination of pride;
With Solitude after association;
and with abstinence (Zuhd) after desire.

The knowledge which brings pride after humility,
and fame after obscurity is the type of knowledge from which Rasulullah (Sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam)
sought Allah Ta'ala's Protection.

He said: O Allah, I seek protection from knowledge which is not beneficial."

He will not be deprived...

Bismihi Ta'ala

Hazrat Umar (RA) said:

The one who is inspired to Supplicate (make Dua) will not be deprived of a response because Allah Ta'ala says:

“AND YOUR LORD SAYS : CALL ON ME; I WILL ANSWER YOUR (DUA)…”
[Surah Mu`min 40 : 60]

The one who is inspired to show Gratitude will not be deprived of receiving more, because Allah Ta'ala says :

“…IF YOU ARE GRATEFUL, I WILL MOST CERTAINLY INCREASE FOR YOU (MY FAVOURS)...”

[Surah Ibraheem 14 : 7]

The one who is inspired to Seek Forgiveness will not be deprived of acceptance (by Allah Ta'ala) because He says:

"AND SEEK FORGIVENESS OF ALLAH. INDEED, ALLAH IS FORGIVING AND MERCIFUL."

[Surah Muzammil 73 : 20]

Following the Good and Avoiding the Evil

Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

"The Intelligent man is not the one who knows the good from the evil.
Rather, the intelligent man is the one who knows the good, so he follows it; and he knows the evil, so he avoids it."

Imam Sufyaan Ibn 'Uyaynah (Rahmatullah 'Alayh)

Humility

Bismihi Ta'ala

Story of the Raindrop

Sheikh Saadi (Rahmatullah ‘alaih) mentions a beautiful story, in his Bustaan, of a raindrop which fell from a spring cloud.
Seeing the magnitude and vast expanse of the ocean, it was ashamed.
Reflecting and introspecting, it thought : “Where am I next to the sea? Compared with it, I am extinct. I am nothing.”

In its contemplative and pensive mood, it regarded itself with an eye of disdain. Whilst doing so, an oyster surfaced from the ocean and took the raindrop within the haven of its care. Destiny then shaped its course that eventually the raindrop became a renowned Royal pearl.

For its humility and humbleness, it found itself exalted. Its annihilation, made it existent.

No replacement for Allah Ta'ala

Bismihi Ta'ala

"For everything that you part from, there is a replacement;
But if you disassociate from Allah,
there is no replacement for Him."
